What to compare

A curcumin figure tells you more than a turmeric figure, so look for the percentage of curcuminoids. Many formulas add black pepper extract (piperine) or use a special delivery form. Capsules are the most common, with softgels, liquids and gummies also available.

Why is black pepper added?

Piperine is often added because curcumin on its own is poorly absorbed. Piperine can also affect how some medicines are absorbed.
